Year 4 swimming

On Thursday 16th April, our year 4LM class started their swimming lessons. Our swimming lessons take part at Thorne Swimming pool. 

In England, national curriculum swimming is a statutory requirement for primary schools in Key Stage 1 or 2. By the end of Year 6, all pupils must be able to swim competently, confidently, and proficiently over at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively, and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.  
Key Requirements (KS1 & KS2):
Distance: Swim at least 25 metres without stopping and unassisted.
Strokes: Use a range of strokes effectively, such as front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke.
Safety: Perform safe self-rescue techniques in various water scenarios.
Reporting: Schools must report on the percentage of their cohort meeting these requirement
