Operation Encompass

What is Operation Encompass?

Operation Encompass is a police-led, early-intervention partnership that notifies schools before 9 a.m. the next school day if a student has been exposed to a domestic abuse incident. This ensures schools can provide immediate, tailored support to children, aiming to reduce the negative impact of trauma. It is now a legal requirement in England and Wales.

How can we help in school?

"Talk to the Badge" is a Doncaster-based initiative where individuals can approach people wearing specific pins to talk, particularly for support regarding domestic abuse or mental health. These volunteers, often part of a "Pin Badge Army," provide a listening ear, with a dedicated helpline available at 01302 737080.

School staff have also now been trained. If you need to 'Talk to the badge' look for members of staff who are wearing them on their lanyards.
