Travis St Lawrence CE Primary School

Meet our Governors

Carolyn Buckley

I am the Head Teacher at Travis St Lawrence CE Primary and also one of the governors.

I have been at Travis St Lawrence since September 2017 and I love it here! The children, families, staff and volunteers (including the governors) make it a very special place to be.

My passions in education are inclusion, English (especially children’s books) and wider curriculum opportunities.

Outside of school, I like to spend time with my family and get outdoors!

Nicola Poskitt

My name is Nicola Poskitt and I am an elected parent governor.

I worked as a nurse in accident & emergency for more than 15 years, studying and completing a masters degree in that time. I now run my own successful aesthetics business.

I have two children at Travis St Lawrence, and one that will be starting EYFS 2022.  I wanted to become a parent governor as I am passionate about the school, and wanted to help to build and maintain relationships between the school, parents and children.

Rachel Ridler

My name is Rachel and I am a Church Foundation Governor as well as the Youth, Children's and Families Worker employed at St Lawrence Church.

I have two children who attend the school and was excited to be able to contribute positively to their education.  I also have ten years experience of the charity sector in fundraising, particularly grants and trust.  Now I spend most of my time delivering activities for children and families in Hatfield and the local area, including assemblies and RE lessons to connect children to our parish church.

In my spare time I love baking (and eating the results!), cycling and DIY projects.

Rosh Milner

Hello! I’m Rosh and I have been a Foundation Governor for since 2017. I live in Dunsville and attend St Lawrence Church.

I became a Governor so that I could make a difference in my local community and because I felt that some of my experience in organisational development, Charity Governance and infrastructure, staff and people development might be useful.  I love the fact that being involved helps keep me young, but always makes me feel that I am contributing positively to all our futures.

Lee Pitcher

I adore being the Chair of Governors at Travis St Lawrence. It’s a role that I had the honour of taking up when I was an elected Parent Governor when both my children were at the school. I have personally seen both of them thrive on the foundations that Travis gave them. I am now the Local Authority Governor..

Whilst it seems a far cry from my day to day work at Yorkshire Water, I have always had a love of education. I was a Russian teacher after University and now look after the education team at work, albeit, our focus is on water, the environment, and sustainability.

I am also the Leader of Hatfield Town Council, a member of the local Doncaster Lions Charity and Chair of an Arts and Culture Organisation.  I learn loads from my work in the school to take back to my other passions but also like to think I help bring something to the school too!

If you need to contact me, I can be contacted via the school office:

Beryl Adamson

My name is Beryl and I am the longest serving governor here at Travis St Lawrence School.  I have huge experience in the education sector after a career as a teacher.  I am also a reader and funeral minister at St Lawrence Church.

Rev Liz Turner-Loisel

My name is Rev Liz and I am the Priest in charge at St Lawrence Church.  I have been on the governing board of Travis St Lawrence since arriving here in Hatfield and it is part of my role as Vicar here to play an active role in the life of the school.

Laura Wilcock

I am Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for Early Years and Key Stage One at Travis St Lawrence and also staff governor. I have worked here since September 2013. Travis is my home and I love our ethos and family feeling.

Our families, children and staff make Travis such a wonderful warm school which holds a special place in my heart!

I have a passion for reading both with children and at home. In my spare time I love to bake and cook.

Ali Hornshaw

I am the Deputy Head Teacher at Travis St Lawrence CE Primary and an associate governor.

I have worked at Travis St Lawrence since 2017 and it is a wonderful place to work. All the people who come together, including the governors, make it a truly special place for children to thrive and flourish.  I love teaching all aspects of the primary curriculum, but have a particular passion for Maths and Science.

Outside of school, I like to spend time with my family, my dogs and curl up with a good book.
